Our Story
The company was founded by a Kericho-born horticulturist who grew up in Kaboswa Village, right in the heart of the farms of Kericho. Having spent her childhood picking tea and Coffee observing the realities of rural households i.e women doing most of the work but rarely controlling the income. She saw firsthand how this cycle affected children, education and the general well-being of families.
After years working with multinational agricultural companies and supporting farmers across Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa, she returned home with a vision: build a coffee enterprise that uplifts the same community that raised her. Hiphonic was incorporated in 2021, first establishing itself through a Farm Inputs Distribution Shop in 2023 before expanding fully into coffee in 2024.

Our Coffee Origins
Ethiopia: As Africa’s largest coffee producer, Ethiopia yields an impressive 472,000 tonnes annually, ranking fifth globally. The Sidamo region, in particular, is celebrated for its distinctive flavors and high-quality beans.
Uganda: Ranked tenth among global coffee producers, Uganda produces approximately 209,000 tonnes each year, with 80% of its output being robusta, cultivated in lower-altitude regions.
Tanzania: Tanzania’s coffee production has seen significant growth, with a 20% increase in the 2022-23 season, reaching 81,500 tonnes. The country is set to produce 300,000 tonnes by the 2025-26 season.
Kenya: Known primarily for its exceptional Arabica coffee, Kenya’s industry is built on meticulous processing and the dedication of over 600,000 smallholder farmers.
